Lady Diana Frances Spencer was just 20 when she married Prince Charles, heir to the throne of Great Britain, July 29, 1981. Her beauty and youthful charisma quickly earned Diana the nickname of "people's princess." She and Charles had two son, William (b. 1982) and Harry (born 1984). However, the marriage was troubled almost from the beginning, and their distribution was fodder for the tabloids a day during the 1990's. Diana and Charles divorced Diana in 1996 and devoted his life to his son and two charities worldwide. She and her friend Dodi al-Fayed, died in 1997 at a high speed car crash while being followed by paparazzi in Paris, France. A French study found that their driver, Henri Paul, was drunk. There followed years of complaints, led in part by Fayed's father, Mohamed Al Fayed that the couple had been the victim of a conspiracy. A three-year British survey in 2006 concluded that "there was no conspiracy to murder the occupants of the vehicle.
