Shakira's Album Account In Arabic

Colombian pop singer Shakira said Saturday he wants to sing pop songs for days, if not the entire album, in Arabic.

Spanish mother tongue, which also hits world in English, spoke at a news conference in Morocco, where she was headlining the festival Mawazine Rhythms of the World.

"It would be a challenge to make the album in Arabic. I would first like to learn Arabic," he said. "I am absolutely open to that experience. ... At some point I would like to see happen in my life."

Born in Colombia, of Syrian origin, Shakira said she grew up listening to divas of the Arabs in the 20th century, Umm Kulthum Egyptian and Lebanese Fairuz.
